Bronze bowl with cloisonné enamel, Qing Dynasty

Made of bronze, with the exterior surface decorated with cells filled with polychrome vitreous enamels against a brilliant turquoise-blue background. The main decoration features the ‘Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism’, surrounded by a dense motif of plant scrolls. The upper rim is bordered by a frieze of geometric motifs, whilst the interior and base are fire-gilded. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).   or later.
