Description.
Natural banded agate, with a rhythmic pattern of concentric bands in shades of dark brown, honey and white. The piece has a spindle shape with a longitudinal perforation. These types of beads are highly valued for their supposed protective and healing properties. With patina due to ageing. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
