Description.
Carved agate, made of black stone with alternating natural white circular bands. The piece has an elongated spindle shape. It stands out for its concentric bands that form a ‘central eye’. It has a central longitudinal perforation. The surface shows wear due to ageing. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
