Description.
Elongated Dzi-type bead (གཟི།), carved from earth-toned agate, with a marked and intense reddish patina. The piece features a decoration of parallel whitish bands surrounding the spindle-shaped body. It has a longitudinal perforation. These types of beads are considered powerful protective amulets. Xiangxiang culture (approx. 1500–1000 BC) or later.
