Description.
Honey-coloured agate with reddish-brown areas and natural veins. The work features a round sculpture of a reclining ram with a compact body and legs tucked under its belly. The head has large striated horns that curve backwards around the ears. The surface is profusely decorated with incised cloud and scroll motifs, accompanied by areas with a diamond pattern. It shows patina due to ageing. Zhou dynasty (1046 BC – 256 BC) or later.
