Description.
Two-coloured agate sculpture ‘南红’, carved in the form of a reclining deer, depicted with its legs tucked under its body and its head turned back in a serene pose. On its back, a ruyi branch can be seen in relief, which it holds in its mouth, using the red veining of the stone to highlight this auspicious motif. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
