Description.
A mottled agate carving combining shades of red, ochre and mustard. The front is carved in relief with a depiction of a ‘Taotie’ mask, featuring prominent eyes, arched eyebrows and a mouth defined by symmetrical scrolls. Shows patina due to age. Warring States period (475–221 BC). or later.
