Carved jade belt ornament, Han style

Jade covered with patina, greenish with reddish and amber flecks. Slightly curved rectangular in shape, the front face shows an elongated mythological beast with a sinuous body and a curly tail. The back, with incised geometric decorations, is designed to have a belt running across it.
