Description.
Carved jade cong, of the ‘chicken bone’ variety ‘鸡骨白’ with an opaque creamy white tone and a dense texture. The piece has the classic shape of a quadrangular prism with a central circular perforation running its entire length. Schematic carvings of zoomorphic masks can be seen on each corner. With antique patina. Liangzhu culture (approx. 3300–2300 BC) or later.
