Description.
Carved jade with a reddish hue, profuse patina and whitish veins. The piece has the classic shape of a hollow cylinder inscribed in a quadrangular prism. The decoration on its corners and sides is noteworthy, carved in bas-relief with taotie masks, large eyes and horizontal bands. Liangzhu culture (approx. 3300–2300 BC) or later.
