Description.
Reddish jade plaque, carved in the shape of a stylized bird with outstretched wings. The piece, with a symmetrical silhouette, has two large circular eyes and a crest. The entire surface is covered with a very fine engraving of scrolls and spirals, in the abstract and distinctive style of Neolithic art from the Liangzhu culture. It shows patina due to ageing.
