Carved jade sculpture in a caramel-brown tone, depicting Guanyin standing. The figure rises to form a stylised and elegant silhouette. The face is elongated, with soft, balanced features: thin arched eyebrows, almond-shaped eyes rolled up in contemplation, a straight nose and lips closed in a slight smile of compassion, all framed by elongated ears. Her hair is tied back in a high bun, partially covered by a veil that falls to her shoulders. The body is covered by a multi-layered robe, with folds sculpted in waves that flow from the shoulders to the bare feet. The right hand is raised to chest level in a mudra of blessing or ‘abhaya’, while the left hand falls down holding a mala. Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
