Description.
White carved jade with areas of ochre-coloured patina, all with a translucent finish. The piece depicts the face of a ram, with a penetrating gaze, curly coat and pointed horns, all rendered in incised detail in an archaic style. It shows signs of wear due to ageing. Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) or later.
