Description.
Sculpture carved in beige-toned jade with brown veins, depicting a dog in a watchful pose, sitting on its hind legs. The animal has stylised details on its legs, muzzle and curled tail, with harmonious modelling and a serene expression of flat ears, closed mouth and almond-shaped eyes. The jade has a natural patina and a smooth polish. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) or later.
