Description.
Carved jade covered by a rich reddish-brown patina that covers almost the entire surface. The piece has a distinctive quadrangular prismatic shape with gently rounded edges, slightly convex sides and a large central circular hole. Shows patina due to ageing. Hongshan culture (c. 4700–2900 BC) or later.
