Description.
Jade carved figure. The piece has a narrow profile and a silhouette representing a horse in an upright position, with its head held straight and small pointed ears. The surface is meticulously worked with archaic-style bas-relief details. The base jade is a pale celadon white, with areas of natural ochre and brown discolouration. Zhou dynasty (c. 1046-256 BC). or later.
