Description.
An ornamental plaque made of ochre-coloured jade with natural veins. It is finely carved in symmetrical form, with an openwork design depicting two mythical beasts facing each other, with serpentiform bodies and stylised heads. The upper part is topped with scrolls, evoking architectural motifs or auspicious clouds, while the main body is decorated with “guwen” spiral patterns, typical of Han-dynasty art, symbolising energy and eternity. It shows patina from ageing.
Size: 9 x 0.6 x 14.5 cm
