Description.
This stamp is made of light-coloured jade with soft natural veins. The hilt depicts a finely carved figure of a deer in a seated position, its head turned to one side in an alert pose. The carving emphasises the erect ears and the elegant curvature of the back. The base bears the inscription ‘此情烟水深’ in relief, with traces of red sealing wax. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
