Carved jade seal ‘Dragon’, Yuan style

Ochre-coloured jade with honey tones. It consists of a rectangular base on which a dragon rests in a powerful stance, with its body arched and its claws planted. It stands out for its archaic style, defining the musculature, jaws and fur through a combination of volumes and incised lines. The base of the seal shows an incised calligraphic character in an archaic sigillary style.
