Description.
White jade with subtle areas of ochre toning. It has a tall rectangular base, crowned by the figure of a reclining elephant, with its head turned to one side and its trunk folded back, in a resting position. Anatomical details, such as the broad ears and skin, are defined by fine incised lines. The base of the seal has incised characters in sigil style. Qing dynasty (1644–1911).
