Description.
Carved green jade, with areas of reddish, ochre and white patina covering the surface. The piece is oval in shape with low walls and a flat base, flanked by two rectangular, flat side handles that blend smoothly into the upper rim. These types of vessels, known as ‘eared’ bowls or cups, were used in rituals and ceremonies. Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD) or later.
