Description.
Natural agate Dzi bead carved with alternating natural bands combining shades of dark brown, honey and milky white. The piece has an elongated biconical shape with rounded ends. It stands out for the precision of its parallel geological bands, which create a striking visual effect. It shows patina due to ageing. Liao dynasty (916–1125) or later.
