Carved stone seal ‘Dragon and Birds’, Zhou style

A quadrangular-shaped stamp carved in brown stone, with an antique-looking cracked surface patina. The cover has two archaic dragons in relief, with stylised bodies and serpentiform outlines. The sides of the body are decorated with reliefs of birds in profile, inscribed in frames delimited by geometric borders. The ornamental style is reminiscent of Zhou Dynasty ritual bronzes. The base bears the inscription ‘贵稿天留’ carved in relief.
