Description.

A white jade bottle carved in the shape of a “hulu” or double gourd, a traditional symbol of longevity and protection. The piece is delicately carved in high relief with leaves and tendrils running across the surface in a naturalistic manner. The stopper, carved in one piece with the bottle, completes the vegetal form in an organic manner. The jade has areas of surface oxidation in orange tones, which accentuate its antique character. It is accompanied by a finely carved wooden base with intertwined fruit and leaf motifs, specifically designed to support the piece. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.

Size: 10 x 3.5 x 5 cm
