Description.
A rectangular carved white jade panel with gently rounded edges, mounted on a finely carved rosewood support. The front face depicts a delicate river landscape scene with a figure seated in a small boat, under a leafy willow tree, between mountains outlined in relief. On the reverse is a calligraphic text composed of several characters arranged in vertical columns, probably a poem of literary or commemorative inspiration. The quality of the jade, which is translucent and evenly toned, together with the sobriety of the deep-veined rosewood with its polished finish, contribute to the overall elegance of the piece. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
