Description.
Made of reddish wood. The piece has an elliptical shape topped by a carving depicting two griffins, mythical creatures with the head of an eagle and the body of a lion. It stands out for the vigour of its volumes, the detail in the plumage and the ornamental elements. The base contains an intricate engraved inscription with traces of red pigment. Qing dynasty (1644–1912)
