Description.
Ink and pigments on mounted silk. It depicts a playful scene with three children in a small boat, surrounded by beautiful white lotuses in bloom. Two of them lean curiously towards the water, while the third, at the stern, holds a pole. The composition is balanced by a large weeping willow dominating the upper right, whose branches fall gracefully over the pond. The scene is executed with fine lines and a soft palette of greens, blues and browns. On the left is a vertical inscription reading ‘丁丑亥五月古吴吉厂管平画’, next to the artist's personal stamp ‘管平’ in red. 1937 or later.
