Chinese painting ‘Cranes and Pines’, signed Shen Quan

Pigments and ink on silk, mounted on brocade silk. The composition depicts a mountainous landscape shrouded in clouds. In the foreground, a slender pine tree stands beneath which a crane perches, while four others fly overhead. On the left-hand side is the inscription 甲戌小春月南蘋沈銓写, alongside two red seals: 南蘋 and 沈佺之印. At the bottom there are also two collector's seals: 泰州宫氏鉴藏金石书画之印 and 高氏清吟堂鉴藏书画. Shen Quan (1682–1760).
