Chinese painting ‘Kingfisher with Lotus’, signed Chen Zhifo

Pigments and ink on silk, framed in brocade silk. The scene depicts a kingfisher in flight, catching a shrimp with its beak, above a pond with white lotus leaves and flowers emerging from the water. On the right-hand side is the inscription ‘乙酉初夏 雪翁’, next to a red seal with the legend ‘陈之佛印’ (Chen Zhifo, 1896-1962).
