Description.
A vertically mounted silk painting depicting a circular scene with a lady standing on large lotus leaves arranged in rippling water. The female figure holds a red flower in one hand and a bamboo staff in the other. She is dressed in an elaborate blue, pink, and white gown with embroidery and a knotted belt. Beside her is a large vase in bloom with chrysanthemums, peonies, and lotuses. In the left margin is an inscription reading: "康熙三十年秋七月, 广陵禹之鼎敬临." Beneath the inscription are two seals: "禹之鼎印" and "慎斋." Yu Zhiding (ca. 1647–1709) was a leading painter of the Qing imperial court, renowned for his technical virtuosity and refined scenes. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
