Description.
Ink and pigments on silk; on a brocade fabric frame. It depicts the immortal Magu, a Taoist deity associated with longevity, standing among clouds and carrying a large peach, an attribute of immortality. In the upper right corner is the inscription ‘麻姑献寿图此帧献寿图以元人写生法制之, 庚辰夏日, 懋忱黄均并记’ (Magu Offering Longevity, this frame of Offering Longevity is based on a sketch by a Yuan dynasty artist, summer of Gengchen, recorded by Maochen Huang Jun), next to the seal ‘黄均之印’ (Huang Jun's seal). Huang Jun (1899-1969).
