Description.
Painting executed in ink and pigments on silk, mounted on a brocade silk frame. It depicts a monk seated on a rock beneath a leafy grove; in front, a white elephant is led and tended by young acolytes while a third figure observes the scene. On the left side is the inscription ‘枝隐庵头陀吴彬斋心拜心’, next to the red seals “文中” and ‘吴彬’. Wu Bin (active in the late Ming dynasty).
