Description.
A vertical painting on silk depicting a bouquet of blooming peonies, accompanied by two butterflies fluttering between the stems. The composition features two large red peonies with voluminous petals, a traditional symbol of wealth, nobility, and feminine beauty. The leaves, a deep blue-green hue, contrast with the white background of the support. In the upper left corner is the inscription "大富贵," followed by the text "戌子二月非闇于昭于玉山砚斋," along with two seals in red ink: "于照之印" and "非闇." Yu Fei'an (1888–1959) was born Yu Zhao in Beijing and was a highly acclaimed painter and writer.
