Description.
Painting executed in ink and pigments on silk, mounted on a brocade silk frame. The composition depicts a sage riding a donkey, accompanied by a servant, advancing along a path between rugged mountains and pine trees with intricate branches. In the lower left corner is the inscription ‘东邨周臣’, accompanied by a red seal ‘东邨’. Zhou Chen (c. 1450–1535).
