Chinese painting ‘Village Among the Mountains’, signed Lu Zhi

Pigments and ink on silk, with a brocade silk frame. The scene depicts a mountainous landscape with large rock formations and stylised pine trees. Small traditional houses and figures can be seen in the mountains. On the left-hand side is the inscription 嘉靖庚申秋日写于友竹居, 包山子陆治, accompanied by two red seals 陆治之印 and 叔平. At the bottom are added collection seals: 番禺潘氏望琼仙馆藏 and 曾藏潘氏健…处. Lu Zhi (1496–1576).
