Chinese silk painting, ‘Scene on the Lake’, signed Tan Yin

Ink and pigments on silk; on a brocade fabric frame. It depicts a landscape with a large lake next to which stands a hut, presided over by a scholar observing a musician playing from a boat. In the upper right corner is the inscription ‘十里平溪映树中树头霜,叶缀新红谁能领略此风, 斜日渔船一笛风, 晋昌唐寅’ next to two red seals. There are also two collector's seals, ‘真赏斋’ and ‘真宝斋图书记’. Tan Yin (1470-1523).
