Description.
A spectacular Meiping-style vase with a slender profile and a small, narrow mouth with an everted rim, coated in a vibrant monochrome turquoise glaze over an engobe. The body displays the sgraffito or incised (Tiahua) technique, featuring a dense and rhythmic floral motif of peonies amidst scrollwork on a cross-hatched background, flanked at the shoulders by a rosette of lotus petals and at the base by friezes of stylised leaves. It shows patina and natural erosion of the glaze. Song Dynasty (960–1279) or later.
Height: 34.2 cm. Mouth diameter: 5.7 cm. Base diameter: 11 cm
