Description.

Complete reproduction of the Distinguished Order of the Golden Fleece, one of the most prestigious and ancient dynastic and military honors in Europe.

The necklace consists of a sequence of gold-plated silver links, alternating flint, enamelled in red and blue tones, with the blades of Burgundy. The sequence is joined at the central circular link that holds a central fleece. The insignia consists of an enamelled imperial crown, a winged coat of arms in red enamel, and, at the end, the golden fleece, a symbol of authority and royalty according to Greek mythology. The reproduction also includes a red silk ribbon, used for the band version of the order.

The Order was originally established by Philip III the Good, Duke of Burgundy, around 1429-1430. The Order, whose Spanish branch is currently led by King Philip VI, has been awarded to monarchs, nobles, and prominent figures for their services to the Crown.

Reproduction made by one of the three jewelers of the royal house, which captures in great detail the heraldic complexity and symbolism of this historic distinction.
