Description.
Porcelain inkwell with an inverted cylindrical body, smooth walls that taper slightly toward the circular spout, slightly accentuated by a thick, beaded rim. The exterior surface features a single decoration of a finely outlined peony flower in iron-red glaze, a traditional symbol of nobility and beauty. The interior surface shows signs of use consistent with its function. The base bears an underglaze blue mark. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
