Description.
A double seal carved in jadeite, taking advantage of the natural shades of the stone, which vary between white, green and ochre. The upper part of the seal features a dragon with an elongated and sinuous body, which extends elegantly over both bases of the seal. The creature has a prominent head with expressive features, defined horns and curved whiskers, while its stylised body undulates in scrolls. The piece has two bases joined at the centre, one oval and one rectangular, finely engraved on the base with the inscriptions ‘谦受益’ and ‘天倪道筦’. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
