Press 'Program an autobid'in order to confirm
Exceptional double seal, carved from a single piece of white jade. The structure consists of two rectangular plinths connected at the top by a figure that acts as a bridge and handle. The figure, carved in the round, represents a panther or a chihu, with an elongated, sinuous body, resting its front paws on one plinth and its hind paws on the other. The animal's tail takes advantage of a natural ochre-colored inclusion, adding a touch of color. The matrices of both seals reveal an incised carving that forms the inscription: “鑑古御賞印”. Qing dynasty (1644-1912).
The piece is accompanied by a gemological certificate issued by Hong Kong Kowloon Jade & Jewellery Laboratory LTD in 2025. SC241750.
