Description.
This painting presents a botanical still life unusually integrated into an open landscape. The composition features three deep, dark red carnations growing from a ceramic pot at the base, accompanied by intertwined green stems and a closed bud pointing towards the sky. The background breaks with the traditional still life, depicting a misty and melancholic natural scene with silhouettes of slender trees and distant hills beneath a twilight sky in shades of ochre and yellow.
