Empire style table clock, 20th century

Table clock, a bronze sculptural group with a dark brown patina, depicting a scene of classical mythological or allegorical inspiration with two figures of idealized anatomy. The male figure, crowned with laurel leaves and dressed in a warrior's cloak and belt, sits in a contemplative pose; beside him, a female figure with a Hellenistic hairstyle and wearing a flowing chiton leans delicately over his shoulder in a gesture of complicity. Reproduction of a 19th-century French clock with a quartz movement.
