Description.
A porcelain vase with a short foot on which is placed a flat, bulging body topped by an elongated cylindrical neck. The vase is covered with a vibrant yellow enamel, which serves as a background for two types of beautiful superimposed decorations. On one side is the image of a ferocious dragon, with an elongated, sinuous body covered with scales and ending in thick legs with sharp claws, executed using the ‘sgraffito’ technique. Above the mythological beast is a beautiful landscape composed of two thick pomegranate branches covered with leaves and coloured fruit. At the base is a six-character seal ‘大清康熙年制’ in underglaze blue.
