The painting is a magnificent example of Mediterranean maritime genre painting, capturing the traditional work of the Valencian coast. In the middle ground, the figure of a fishmonger stands out, dressed in a white blouse, a long grayish skirt, and a light-colored headscarf, while firmly supporting a wicker basket or tray on her shoulders. At her feet, on the dock rendered with a very loose and energetic brushstroke of palette knife and brush, rest wooden crates and fishing buckets. As a backdrop, several boats are moored in the water, their dark silhouettes projecting dense blue reflections onto the sea surface. The composition stands out for its brilliant capture of the silvery light of the coast, achieved through a rich and vibrant palette of grays, whites, blues, and mauves that envelop the scene in a hazy and nostalgic atmosphere. Signed and dated by the artist in the lower right corner "E. Segrelles / 89". Year: 1989.
