Description.
Watercolor on paper. It depicts a rustic river flanked by rocks and groves of trees, spanned by two old semicircular arch bridges. The work displays a loose, impressionistic style and a great sense of freshness. The artist does not seek meticulous detail, but rather aims to capture the landscape’s light and color effects immediately, applying the paint with quick, confident brushstrokes. Signed and titled “M. Checa – Landscape of the Apennines” in the lower right corner.
