Francisco Castro Leñero (1954-2022) “Balances”, 2004

Digital printing and lithography on paper. The composition adheres to the geometric abstraction and rationalism characteristic of the artist, articulated on an orthogonal grid of fine black lines that organizes the space. Various elements are arranged on this grid in a deliberate interplay of visual tensions: an imposing, asymmetrical, textured vertical band in shades of gray and green with yellow accents; a lower block of parallel horizontal lines in sienna; a subtle multicolored vertical line on the left; and three quadrangular shapes (two textured reddish-brown on the flanks and one black in the upper center). The whole is enlivened by a controlled scattering of small, circular gray patches distributed across the canvas. Signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right corner "Francisco Castro L '04", titled "Equilibrios" in the lower center, and numbered as a limited edition "45/75" in the lower left corner.
