Description.
Oil-painted ceramic plate. The composition is located in the central tondo of the plate and depicts the profile bust of a young woman with her face turned to the left. The figure has brown hair gathered in a low bun and wears a grayish-green mantle that covers her shoulders, evoking the aesthetic of matrons from classical antiquity or 19th-century academicism. The portrait stands out against a textured, painterly background of loose, impressionistic brushstrokes in shades of green, ochre, and blue that contrast sharply with the smooth, polished, and clean surface of the white porcelain, which acts as a wide rim. The artist's signature, "G. Gomez," and some partially visible inscriptions are present.
Size: 31 x 31 cm
