Description.
Bronze figure, with traces of fire gilding, representing the Bodhisattva Tara. She is seated in the “lalitasana” posture of ease on a double lotus throne. The figure is adorned with a five-pointed crown, elaborate jewelry, and a celestial scarf waving behind her. Two lotus flowers sprout from her upper arms at shoulder height. The base is unsealed. Qing dynasty (18th century).
