Description.
Made of stoneware ceramic paste, covered with a thick, creamy glaze in a deep sky blue colour with reddish-purple spots. The piece has a semi-spherical body with deep walls that taper towards a short circular base. It displays a fine crackle glaze covering the surface, a distinctive feature of Jun kiln (Jun yao) production. Song dynasty (960–1279) or later.
